Carlo Cappai e Maria Alessandra Segantini are principals of C+S Architects based in Treviso, Italy.
C+S work internationally, cross-sectioning among urban design, the design of the landscape, architecture and interior,
both for the private and the public sectors. They have won many important international competitions including the redevelopement
of Chiasso railway station site, housing complexes in Japan, university students’ housing in Murano
(Venice), the Policlinic Hospital in Milan, the Law Court in Venice and many projects for school buildings,.
They have lectured internationally at the MoMA in New York, at Columbia University GSAPP, at the MIT in
Boston, at the Politecnico of Milan and at the BIG conference in Lubjiana, among others.
They have been visiting professors at the MIT in Boston, at Syracuse University, School of Architecture, New York, at
Hasselt University and at the University of Architecture of Venice, among others. Presently they are Professors at
Hasselt University, University of Architecture and Art and at the UEL in London.
Their work has been awarded with the Special Prize of the Gold Medal of Italian Architecture 2012, the Selection in the European Mies van der Rohe Award 2009 and the Sfide 2009 Prize of the Italian Ministry of Landscape and
Environment, among others.
C+S works have been published internationally and exhibited in the 8th, 12th, 13th, 14th Biennale of Architecture of
Venice, at the MIT in Boston, at the Triennale of Milan, at the Cité de l’Architecture et du Patrimoine in Paris, the Architekturzentrum in Wien and the RIBA in London, among others.
