He was born in January 15, 1970 in Messina (Sicily). He graduated in architecture at the Faculty of Architecture of Reggio Calabria in 1997. From 1998 to 2000 he worked as a teaching assistant courses in "Materials and Building Elements" " Executive Planning " and " Maintenance building and upgrading " at the Faculty of Architecture of Reggio Calabria. In 1999 , in Bologna , with the consortium " RITED ", "ICIE" and ICITE", participates in the development of the detailed design and construction of prototype panels to thermal inertia and noise reduction (CNR - Milan). From 2001 to 2009 , he worked at the Architectural Heritage and Landscape for the provinces of Sassari and Nuoro as an official architect and then Director of Architect . During this period, develops strategies for technological approach to the discipline of restoration and upgrading existing building; starts a process of verification of the compatibility of materials in the restoration (which he personally supervised), as well as the sustainability of intervention techniques and materials, in work performance and the durability and reliability over time. In 2003 he obtained the PhD title in “Architecture and Technology" at the Faculty of Architecture of Reggio Calabria, department " Arts , Science and Technology of Building." Since June 2009 he is a researcher at the Faculty of Architecture of Alghero, disciplinary field " Architecture Technology". Is the representative office of research projects in the prevailing national and regional funding. He is scientific advisor of The Building School in northern Sardinia, Sassari , on behalf of the Department of Architecture of Alghero , on the topics of innovation of technology and the training of skilled workers in construction. He is member of Scientific Committee of the series “Care Design”, Altralinea, Florence (Italy). He is peer rewiever of “City, territory and Architecture”, published by Springer.Participate in seminars and conferences , national and international, Innovation technology of materials regarding the works of new construction and existing recovery and the sustainability of the technical choices in the recovery of the existing, and investigates the relationship between technological solutions construction , environmental quality and well-being related to the occupants .He elaborated on a regional scale projects aimed at the creation of new industrial clusters for the recovery and nourishment of sensitive environmental sites degraded quarry , together with the re-use of waste materials for the production of building materials with low environmental impact and energy (POR Sardegna 2000 -2006 - Sector Industry , FIRB 2011). He was a member of the task force 's funding program for research projects PRIN 2009 funded by the Ministry of Education with the project entitled " Regeneration and functional performance of health facilities: context, entry and form”. He is scientific advisor of operational unit of the research project titled "Governing for art. Processes and tools of participatory planning of the territory". He is proponent of regional start-up projects of technological innovation in the relationship between construction , technology and well-being. Currently , he is interested the conditions for the technical and technological innovation in the field of rehabilitation of the existing and the reuse of waste materials. In the field of architectural design, is interested in the relationship between spatial quality , perception and design together with the users ( evidence-based design) . Find the translation of the “esigenziale” setting performance to better reflect the real needs of users expressed during the process of the project.
